Ingredients
- 4 Pork Chops (boneless, 1-inch thick)
- 1/2 cup Gluten-Free Tamari Sauce
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon Ginger (freshly grated)
- 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
- 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons Water
- 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds (for garnish)
- 2 Green Onions (sliced, for garnish)
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
Instructions
- 1
In a medium bowl, whisk together the gluten-free tamari sauce, honey, rice vinegar, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil.
- 2
In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth. This is your slurry.
- 3
Add the cornstarch slurry to the teriyaki sauce mixture and whisk well to combine.
- 4
Season the pork chops with ground black pepper.
- 5
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned.
- 6
Pour the teriyaki sauce over the pork chops in the skillet. Bring the sauce to a simmer.
- 7
Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the skillet, and let the pork chops simmer in the sauce for 10-15 minutes, or until they are cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
- 8
Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside to rest for a few minutes.
- 9
Increase the heat to medium and let the remaining teriyaki sauce in the skillet simmer and thicken for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 10
Spoon the thickened teriyaki sauce over the pork chops. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
Tips & Notes
- •For a thicker sauce, simmer it longer after removing the pork chops. Be careful not to burn it!
- •If you don't have fresh ginger, you can use 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger.
- •Marinate the pork chops in the teriyaki sauce for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight) for even more flavor.
