Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups Gluten-Free All-Purpose Flour Blend
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
- 2 Large Eggs
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
- 1/2 cup Milk (Dairy or Non-Dairy)
- 2 tbsp Melted Butter (Dairy or Vegan)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar
- 4-6 tbsp Milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
- 2
In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg.
- 3
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, applesauce, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- 4
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 5
Transfer the batter to a piping bag or a ziplock bag with a corner cut off. Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
- 6
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- 7
Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- 8
While the donuts are cooling, prepare the glaze: In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add more milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
- 9
Dip each donut into the glaze, covering the top. Place back on the wire rack to allow the glaze to set.
- 10
Enjoy immediately!
