Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Gluten-free all-purpose flour blend
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup Milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tablespoons Melted butter or oil
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 batch DONUTS

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.

  2. 2

In a large bowl, whisk together gluten-free flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg.

  3. 3

In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, applesauce, milk, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla extract.

  4. 4

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

Transfer the batter to a piping bag or a large zip-top bag. Snip off the corner of the bag.

  6. 6

Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.

  7. 7

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. 8

Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

  9. 9

Dip in your favorite glaze or sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Tips & Notes

  • For best results, use a gluten-free flour blend that contains xanthan gum.
  • Don't overmix the batter, or the donuts will be tough.
  • The donuts are best eaten the same day they are made.
