Ingredients
- 1 pound Fresh Strawberries
- 12 ounces High-Quality Dark Chocolate (70% cacao or higher)
- 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- Pinch Sea Salt flakes
- 2 tablespoons Gluten-Free Sprinkles (optional)
- 2 tablespoons Chopped Nuts (optional)
- 2 tablespoons Shredded Coconut (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Cocoa Powder (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Powdered Sugar (optional)
Instructions
- 1
Wash and thoroughly dry the strawberries. Ensure they are completely dry for the chocolate to adhere properly. Remove the stems, leaving a small portion for easy dipping.
- 2
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. This will prevent the chocolate-covered strawberries from sticking.
- 3
In a heatproof bowl set over a simmering pot of water (double boiler), combine the dark chocolate and coconut oil. Ensure the bottom of the bowl doesn't touch the water.
- 4
Stir constantly until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- 5
Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, swirling to coat evenly. Lift the strawberry and gently shake off any excess chocolate.
- 6
Place the dipped strawberries on the prepared baking sheet. Immediately sprinkle with gluten-free sprinkles, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, cocoa powder or powdered sugar if desired.
- 7
Refrigerate the chocolate-covered strawberries for at least 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
- 8
Serve chilled and enjoy!
Tips & Notes
- •For a smoother chocolate coating, use a high-quality chocolate with a high cocoa butter content.
- •Make sure the strawberries are completely dry before dipping to ensure the chocolate adheres properly.
- •If the chocolate begins to harden while dipping, gently reheat it over the double boiler.
